Castle tradition

300 year old romanticism meets the modern age

When Yves and Elie De Malle walked, for the first time, the two kilometres through the castle grounds to the Château de Lasne and saw the dreamlike castle of the 17th century they fell in love. Without the slightest hesitation they bought the building and renovated it in the years that followed with their own fair hands and with dedication and patience.

To complete the renovation, the 120-square-metre terrace was covered with a wood-plastic composite (WPC). After just one winter, near the Belgian Ardennes, dark grey stains had formed on the edges of the art nouveau porch due to the absorption of water by the wood fibres.

“After fruitless attempts to claim on the warranty with the manufacturer of the product and extensive research by the terrace builder, we promptly opted for NOMAWOOD PROVENCE and replaced everything”, said Elie de Malle. “We never imagined, not even in our wildest dreams, that we could achieve such a perfect harmony of art(ifice) and tradition. It kept the romantic dream of the castle alive, just as we wanted it. Everything was perfect, including the LED spotlights”
